The importance of self-care for caregivers

Caring for a loved one, friend or neighbor can be challenging and stressful. Caregivers can become “burned out,” taking a toll on their own health and well-being, and impacting their ability to be an effective caregiver. We can help, with programs designed to enhance quality of life for families and caregivers.

Caregiver support

Our Caregiver Support team provides resources, education, guidance, training, and empowerment to those caring for older adults and people with disabilities. Our trained and compassionate staff can provide phone consultations or a home visit, depending on your needs. Initial consultations are free to residents in the communities we serve and can be scheduled at our office in Burlington, in your home, or at another location convenient for you.

Caregiver webinars

“Caring for the Caregiver” is a free, monthly webinar series produced by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Elder Affairs and Mass Home Care. This series offers tips, practical solutions, and information on community resources for family caregivers.

You can view recorded webinars on the series YouTube channel.

Powerful Tools for Caregivers is a free, 6-week, in-person education program designed to build the skills needed to handle the challenges faced by family caregivers. Topics covered include self-care behaviors, management of emotions, self-efficacy, and use of community resources.

Caregiver support groups offer an opportunity to connect and learn from others who are navigating their own caregiver journeys. Contact us for more information on programs offered by our Caregiver Support team or other groups in your area.
