Senior Dining CentersMinuteman Senior Services manages the Senior Dining Sites listed below, where people can gather and socialize over a nutritious meal prepared by one of our Healthy Eating Partners in Caring. Sign up is required one day in advance and a small donation is requested to help cover the cost.The Meals on Wheels (MOW) program delivers a hot lunch to homebound, vulnerable seniors who are unable to provide good nutrition for themselves, and who meet certain guidelines. Special dietary considerations are available for those with chronic health conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. This daily check in by a volunteer driver may be the only social contact an elder has and helps reduce the isolation often experienced by disabled seniors. Drivers are trained to identify and report observations or emergencies that might indicate a medical problem or the need for more intervention. Persons receiving service under the Older Americans Act must be provided with an opportunity to make a voluntary, confidential donation toward the cost of that service. Any donations received are put directly into program enhancement, and allow more people to be served. There is no obligation to contribute, and any contribution you make is voluntary and will in no way influence service delivery. |
